20th Anniversary Team
As the 1996-1997 school year marked the first year MCPS had Varsity lacrosse, the MCLCA has worked hard and is excited to announce the MCLCA Boys 20th Anniversary Team. After taking nominations from coaches, a small group of coaches with over 60 years of combined coaching experience in Montgomery County met to finalize a team that represents the best of Montgomery County lacrosse over the past 20 years. 27 players were chosen as first team members, with an additional 22 receiving Honorable Mention. A combination of high school & college performance was used to determine selection, as well as contributions to the game. Only players graduating between 1997 and 2016 were up for selection. Of the 49 players selected, 6 have gone on to play professional lacrosse in either the MLL (Major League Lacrosse) or NLL (National Lacrosse League). 29 were named US Lacrosse All American selections, 14 were Montgomery County Players of the Year and 3 are current DC area coaches. We are very proud of what we accomplished county wide over the past 20 years and want to showcase the past and present talented boys lacrosse plays from Montgomery County.
