About Coach

Coach Potts started coaching lacrosse in Montgomery County 6 years ago as Northwood’s JV head coach. This past year Coach Potts lead Northwood to its best record in school history and a division championship.  Along with Northwood's Success Coach Potts earned Montgomery County Coach of the year in 2017.  Potts has coached multiple all-division players, and has coached multiple players who have gone on of to play college lacrosse at the NCAA level.

A Native of Smithtown N.Y., Potts graduated from Hauppauge High School in 2003 and went on to enjoy a very successful college career.  Coach Potts played two years at Suffolk CC where he was an Academic All-American and a starter as a freshman.  After Suffolk, Potts transferred to SUNY Cortland where he would be part of the 2006 National Championship team that beat Salisbury University, at the time the Gulls were three-time defending National Champs.

Coach Potts has coached children of all ages, his coaching career started in NY while finishing college.  After College, Potts went on to Coach middle school boy’s lacrosse for three years at The William Floyd school district in Long Island NY.   Potts dedicates his life to growing the game of lacrosse and sets high standards for his program.  Potts instills his knowledge and love of the game to all his players.  He also hopes that all the athletes he coaches will feed off his work ethic, preparation, and commitment.
